Position Overview:
Claim Academy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Bookkeeping & Business Instructor
to teach, mentor, and prepare students for success as certified QuickBooks professionals and
entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will guide students through bookkeeping fundamentals,
QuickBooks certification, and the key steps to launching their own business. This is a unique
opportunity to empower students with the knowledge and skills to not only master bookkeeping
but also start, promote, and grow a successful freelance business.
Key Responsibilities:
● Teach in-person classes at Claim Academy covering foundational bookkeeping
principles, QuickBooks Desktop/Online mastery, and business start-up strategies.
● Prepare students for the QuickBooks Certification Exam, providing hands-on training,
real-world examples, and practice materials.
● Instruct students on how to start their own bookkeeping business, including legal
setup, branding, and building business infrastructure.
● Guide students on how to find clients: teaching lead generation, networking
strategies, and how to tap into various online platforms for freelance work.
● Train students on how to promote their services through digital marketing (social
media, SEO basics, and website creation) and traditional marketing techniques.
● Equip students with skills to price their services appropriately, manage clients, and
scale their freelance or small business operation.
● Provide ongoing mentorship and support for students as they develop business plans
and strategies.
● Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching methods
as necessary to ensure student success.
● Foster an engaging, interactive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages
student participation and professional development.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field (minimum 3-5 years).
● Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor or equivalent certification.
● Entrepreneurial experience: Must have successfully started, grown, and/or operated a
small business or worked as a freelancer, especially in bookkeeping or related services.
● Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
● Strong understanding of business setup processes, including legal structures,
business planning, and client management.
● Knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies to promote services online, such as
SEO, social media, and website management.
● Ability to inspire and coach students on how to transition from employees to
entrepreneurs or freelancers.
● Excellent communication, mentoring, and presentation skills.
● Passion for student success and ability to provide practical, actionable advice on
business-building strategies.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly or contract-based pay, commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
● Part-Time, In-Person
● Daytime classes with flexible scheduling.
● Approximately 2-3 days per week, 3-4 hours per session.
