Job Description:
As a GIS DevOps Full-time Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of GIS professionals. You will deliver high-quality instruction, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development to ensure our program remains at the forefront of industry trends. This role requires a deep understanding of GIS concepts, DevOps practices, and hands-on experience with relevant tools and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, labs, and workshops on GIS Software Development and DevOps principles.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, to meet industry standards and student needs.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to students, guiding them through projects and helping them build practical skills.
- Collaborate with the curriculum team to review and refine course content based on student feedback, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Stay current with advancements in GIS software, DevOps tools, cloud technologies, and best practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and contribute to the overall success of the bootcamp community.
- Assist in student career preparation by sharing industry insights, networking opportunities, and job search strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geoinformatics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in GIS Software Development and DevOps roles.
- Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Teaching or training experience is a plus.
